Youth Crime Watch of Liberia Collaborated with U. S. Embassy to Host One Day Strategic Dialogue with Dr. Avis Jones – DeWeever

On June 27, 2018, Youth Crime Watch of Liberia collaborated with the United States Embassy Monrovia Public Affairs Section to host Dr. Avis Jones-DeWeever, the author of the award-winning book, “How Exceptional Black Women Lead,” and founder of the Exceptional Leadership Institute, a global personal and professional development firm grounded in the notion that the best leadership is diverse leadership.

The aim of the Strategic dialogue was to ensure that 30 young female leaders from diverse background interact with Dr. Avis Jones-DeWeever and discuss gender sensitive issues relating to challenges that undermine women in leadership.

The event which was co-organized under our Girls in Charge program provided the space for Dr. DeWeever to conduct a roundtable discussion the young Liberian women leaders on the challenges they face and overcoming obstacles. Dr. DeWeever highlighted key points in her book and dialogue with the young women leaders as they shared their own perspective about the book.
After the event, Dr. DeWeever expressed joy and encouraged the young women leaders to take advantage of available opportunities and develop their human capacities.
